ACTING FOR FILM

This part-time Acting for Screen workshop is designed for those who wish to develop their performance skills for the medium of film. Gain confidence in front of the camera and build all the skills you need to launch your acting career. These classes will give participants the opportunities to take part in numerous exercises and acting workshops, they will learn the core techniques necessary to create a believable performance on screen, including improvisation and subtext in acting. This course is suitable for beginners, no previous experience is required. 

Learning Goals
Throughout these sessions students should be able to:
- Analyze a script to get the best from their performance;
- Apply the technical skills relevant to film acting;
- Practice techniques that will help them achieve an authentic screen performance;
- Project confidence whilst in front of the camera;
 - Understand the On Set practices and the relationship of the actor to the crew

About the instructor - Carole Abboud
Born in Beirut, Carole Abboud has a BA in acting and directing from the Lebanese University, and a Masters in Performing Arts from University Paris 8 - France. She featured in local and international productions of theater plays (with Roger Assaf, Yacoub Chedrawi, Hasan Ben Jaddi, Ezzedin Gannoun, Nabil Al Azan, Suleiman Al Bassam, Jawad Al Assadi, Stephane Olivier-Bisson, Yousef Al Kabra, and Jacques Maroun) and films (with Ghassan Salhab, Joe Bou Eid, Selim Mourad, Aida Begic, Bassem Breish, and Mazen Khaled). In 2011, she opened her own production company, 'c.cam production', where she produced feature award winning documentaries and short films. Since 2020, she has starred in pan Arab TV series such as ''Bi Al Dam'', ''Till Death'', ''The Visit'', ''Salon Zahra'' and others.
