This workshop spans five days, featuring 4-hour online sessions each day. Throughout this immersive experience, participants will delve into the creative, managerial, and strategic dimensions of film producing. The curriculum includes a series of tutorials and illuminating case studies that closely examine the role of a producer and the development of a film project. Participants will be equipped with invaluable tools to comprehend the nuances of film production and propel their projects forward. Prepare to embark on a captivating journey into the world of film producing, where creativity meets management and strategy. Join us in acquiring the knowledge and skills essential to succeed as a producer in the dynamic film industry.

Learning Goals
By the end of this session students should be able to:
- Understand the chronology of the development process and the pivotal role of a creative producer in a film project;
- Master the art of pitching: How to effectively present both yourself and your project to potential stakeholders;
- Cultivate an enhanced understanding of project assessment, recognizing the crucial tools and resources needed for project advancement;
- Uncover the financial aspect of filmmaking: Grasp the fundamentals of financing and fundraising, and learn how the money flows within the industry;
- Gain insights into producing short films, including identifying the demand for shorts and exploring their distribution strategies;
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of project marketing, film packaging, and strategic positioning in the competitive world of cinema;
- Learn to strategize for the release and lifespan of their films, ensuring they reach their intended audiences effectively.

About the instructor - Jana Wehbe:
Jana Wehbe is an award-winning film producer. She studied filmmaking at “Université Saint Joseph'' in Beirut and oriental modern singing at the Lebanese National High Conservatory. In 2009, she co-founded ‘The Attic’ productions with like-minded film professionals. Jana's debut producing career started with “2 1⁄2” , winner of the FIPRESCI Award at DIFF 2010. She went on producing feature documentaries and fiction films along with line-producing several co-productions. In 2011, Jana joined the Doha Film Institute as part of the institute’s annual festivals team where she serves as Projects in development industry manager. She also acts as projects coach in labs and workshops and as professor teaching producing academically. Jana acted as the Arab Film Institute’s representative in Lebanon. In addition to her expertise in music artist management, Jana has been diversifying her interests and is bringing productions to theater and musical stages. Jana was recently selected amongst 4 other Arab female filmmakers to receive the 1st NETFLIX-AFAC Equity fund. She is currently REEF’s Festival Executive director (Rural Encounters on Environment and Films).
